Emotional health represents the mental health of the individual, the provision of which is considered as the main goal of community mental health programs. Proper emotional health and the absence of psychological disorders affect the performance and motivation of individuals to progress. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of emotional health on the academic performance of graduate students in accounting with the mediating role of academic achievement motivation. The statistical sample of the research includes 493 graduate students of accounting at the Islamic Azad University throughout the country in 2021 who were selected by the non-random sampling method. The standard questionnaire inst‍‍‍‍rum‍‍‍‍ent has been used in this research. The research hypotheses were also tested by modeling structural equations using PLS software. Findings show that emotional health has a positive and significant effect on the academic performance of accounting graduate students. On the other hand, emotional health has a positive and significant effect on academic achievement motivation. Also, academic achievement motivation plays a mediating role in the relationship between emotional health and academic performance of graduate students in accounting. The results of this study can be useful for policymakers in Islamic Azad University, to develop appropriate programs for academic satisfaction and design effective programs to identify the shortcomings of the educational system and academic achievement of students and to be useful in providing their mental health as well as continuous improvement of the quality of education and research.
